Fast Search & Transfer (FAST), a developer of enterprise search and real-time alerting technologies, has announced an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partnership with Orchestria, a provider of real-time visibility and control solutions for email, the Web, instant messaging, BlackBerry handhelds, and other electronic communications. As part of this agreement, FAST's enterprise search platform (FAST ESP) will be integrated with Orchestria's Active Policy Management (APM) solution, which is already in use at several Wall Street banks.

The combination of the solutions will be offered to Orchestria's customer and prospects to further augment and improve existing search capabilities offered by Orchestria's APM solution. The enhanced search capabilities are expected to allow more corporate customers to rely on Orchestria's technology to comply with industry legislation and corporate codes such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Corporate Responsibility Act of 2002, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), SEC and NASD regulations, the Basel II Accord, and guidelines laid down by the U.K. Financial Services Authority (FSA).
