Verity Inc. has announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has selected Verity K2 Enterprise (K2E) software for its Joint Regional Information Exchange System (JRIES), a government intelligence information-sharing network that was developed by state and local officials in partnership with the federal government. JRIES, a vital part of the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) initiative, is designed to enable federal, state, and local agencies, as well as emergency operations centers, to receive and share intelligence and tactical information, securely, in the effort to combat terrorism. JRIES uses the search features of Verity K2E to locate, evaluate, and analyze intelligence information stored within the system's content repositories from all 50 states, five territories, the District of Columbia, and urban areas.
