For viewing RSS and Atom content, the new Dogpile Toolbar puts users' personalized headlines into their Web browser with the scrolling content ticker feature, which allows users to continually monitor headlines. Users can configure the size, speed, and scroll direction of the ticker. Another option for viewing content allows users to turn off the ticker and instead view their feeds from the "My Content" button located on the toolbar. When a user clicks on the "My Content" button, an expandable menu drops down to display all their feeds and headlines. A third option displays all of a user's content on a customized HTML page that can be accessed by clicking a button on the Toolbar. Other new Dogpile Search Toolbar features include: SearchSpy Feed—SearchSpy shows actual searches being conducted on the Dogpile search engine in near real-time. The search terms are displayed in the Toolbar's content ticker so users can click on any term to view a Dogpile results page for that query. Microsoft Word Cursor Search—The upgraded cursor search feature allows users to conduct a Dogpile search on any word or phrase within a Microsoft Word document by highlighting the word or phrase and right-clicking their mouse. Enhanced Pop-up Blocker—New pop-up blocker features are designed to enable users to allow pop-ups from selected sites, turn the blocker on and off, and customize blocker settings. The Dogpile Toolbar is available for users of Windows 98/2000/ME/XP and Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher. (http://www.dogpile.com), (http://www.dogpile.com/toolbar.htm), (http://www.infospaceinc.com) |
