Google has released an experiment on Google Labs called Google Search by Location, which is designed to enable users to find information by geographic location. Someone searching for a sushi restaurant in a specific neighborhood, for example, can search for the word [sushi] and by entering a zip code or the name of their desired location, will be shown results for local sushi restaurants. Results are accompanied by a map highlighting the locations of top results. Clicking on highlighted locations connects users to the local Web page.
