TripleHop Technologies has announced a new version of their search and retrieval product, MatchPoint. The new release, MatchPoint 2.0, offers new features and functions designed to enable end users to search and retrieve information across the enterprise, locate the most relevant documents quickly and efficiently, and ultimately make better business decisions faster. MatchPoint 2.0 performs Concept (versus key word) Search, provides universal search capabilities through one interface, and increases user productivity by personalizing the user's experience with collaboration, sharing, and unique learning functions. MatchPoint 2.0 combines semantic and statistical technologies to provide concept search, which returns better results than keyword and lexical-based searches. Concept based searches enable users to retrieve not only those documents that specifically contain the key word(s) entered by the user, but also documents that may not contain such key word(s) but include words relating to the same concept. MatchPoint 2.0 also discovers, classifies, and retrieves information regardless of location or format. In one query users are able to search through structured or unstructured data including the internet, corporate intranet(s), corporate file systems, Outlook and Lotus Notes emails (including attachments), online information services, the Internet, personal documents, and databases. MatchPoint 2.0 is designed to "learn" with each user interaction, providing a high level of personalization to its users. The system becomes more knowledgeable with each user interaction --if the system learns that a document is not relevant to a specific search, such document (or comparable documents) will be less likely to appear in the list of results next time a user runs a comparable search. Users have the option to program searches and be alerted of updates, as well as save searches so that they may be shared amongst employees, helping to avoid work redundancy. MatchPoint 2.0 is designed to focus on a client's needs, providing a search solution to businesses that replicates the way employees really search. Key functions such as a highlighting feature, the ability to expand the query, the program search function, rating functions, and customized interfaces optimize the user experience by accommodating user needs at the industry, company, and department level.
