Convera has announced that Stockholm's Mediearkivet is using Convera's RetrievalWare search technology to help its customers track down articles from 35 of Sweden's newspapers. Mediearkivet's subscription-based online archive contains nearly four million stories from regional and national papers, dating back to 1987. The company is planning to bring another 30 publications on board, giving the site coverage of the entire country. Mediearkivet's customers are able to access the entire archive and see summaries of articles for around $300 a year. For a fee of $1.50 per article, customers can download full text versions of the stories. Mediearchivet's customer base is comprised of over 2,500 governmental departments, universities, media companies, and general enterprises and 4,000 articles are added to the site each day.
