Recommind has introduced Projects & Expertise, an application for its MindServer 4.2 platform. Using inference capabilities built into the company's search-based application integration framework, Projects & Expertise delivers what Recommind calls a 360-degree view of an organization's projects and people by integrating information from multiple corporate systems.

Recommind further says that its new offering captures interrelationships between otherwise unrelated documents and files in a variety of personnel, project and document systems. When users enter a query, the actual search term provides context for the result and determines which relationships are relevant to the user's immediate information need. Projects & Expertise can further exploit these interrelationships to infer previously undiscovered characteristics of projects and people, the company says.
