Avamar Technologies, Inc., a provider of data protection solutions, and Fast Search & Transfer (FAST), a developer of enterprise search and real-time alerting technologies, have announced that they have entered into an OEM agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, Avamar will integrate its disk-based data protection platform with FAST InStream, an enterprise search solution developed specifically to meet the application-based search requirements of independent software vendors (ISVs).

FAST provides businesses and government the ability to access, retrieve, and analyze information in real time, regardless of data format or structure. Avamar's flagship Axion 3.5 data protection platform integrated with FAST InStream will provide data classification and search capabilities for legal discovery and regulatory compliance. With the integration of enterprise search and Avamar's data protection platform, customers can now search through their disk-based archives to locate files in support of legal discovery and compliance.
